Claims Handler

Essex | Permanent | Negotiable pay

The role:

  • To manage from notification to settlement an allocation of Tour Operators liability and Real Estate Claims.

  • Claims administration from notification to settlement

  • Dealing with queries from clients and insurers

  • Negotiating to reach the best settlement possible for our clients whilst maintaining a good relationship with insurers and claimants.

  • Preparation of claims experience for account handlers

  • Provide accurate technical advice on policy coverage and explain the correct claims process depending upon the insurer involved


  • Ensure that we retain our clients

  • Deliver a caring, personal, meticulous and professional service

  • Attend client meetings where appropriate both at renewal and post loss

  • Maintain accurate system records including amendments of reserves and reporting upwards where appropriate

  • Develop and maintain good relations with our partner insurers and keep abreast of market developments

  • Report and refer to the claims manager for guidance where appropriate

  • Attend to Continuous Personal Development

  • Adhere to the company service standards for new claims and post handling

  • Maintain an accurate claims diary system

  • Provide telephone cover for absences which may include non claims related calls

  • General admin duties including filing, photocopying and maintaining a clear desk working policy

Salary: Negotiable depending on experience
