Property Account Executive
London | Permanent | £50,000 - £60,000 annum

John Williams are proud to be partnering with an independent, privately owned, Chartered insurance broking firm providing bespoke insurance services and solutions for property-related businesses and private individuals. With the benefit of over 74 years of experience, they offer expertise in responding to the insurance needs of owners, developers, and managers of property.

 

Our client is currently on the lookout for a Property Account Executive to join their established and growing team in London. As the Account Executive you will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing our client’s brand and reputation with clients and within the insurance industry, contributing to growth through business development activity, thought leadership and product development and actively work in client relationship management, service and retention, broking, claims management and negotiation, and underwriter, risk engineer and loss adjuster relationship management.

 

Key Requirements:

  • Understand and comply with the requirements and expectations of the FCA’s individual conduct rules (COCON 2.1 Individual conduct rules - FCA Handbook).

  • Understand and comply with the requirements and expectations of the FCA’s senior manager conduct rules (COCON 2.2 Senior manager conduct rules - FCA Handbook).

  • Complete administration and quality control responsibilities in accordance with compliance and operating policies and procedures.

  • Fulfil consultancy mandates in which a client will pay the company a fee for advice rather than insurance broking.

  • Develop further business from existing clients by identifying cross selling opportunities and requesting referrals and introductions.

  • Develop and leverage your own network of contacts with real estate professionals and suppliers and attend real estate industry networking events to promote awareness.

 

Key Skills:

  • Strong technical knowledge of real estate, terrorism, engineering, public liability and associated covers for property investors

  • Experience of owner-controlled insurance programmes, latent defects and associated covers for property developers will be an advantage

  • Knowledge and experience of principal underwriting markets

  • Experience of claims management and complex negotiation

  • Experience of working with Acturis

  • Progression and demonstratable commitment to achieving CII qualifications; as a minimum requirement to have achieved the Certificate of Insurance and be enrolled in the Diploma programme
